This September, I have continued to connect with residents in our new riding to build momentum for the next federal election. This has led to positive media coverage about my campaign both locally and nationally. Click here to read a feature on my candidacy in the Auroran Newspaper. In the Hill Times, Canada’s politics and government newsweekly, I was mentioned as a Liberal capable of winning in our riding. I am going to continue to work hard for you, the community and voters in our riding.
On Sunday, September 28 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., I hope you will come out to my Meet and Greet at Annalisa: Asian Fusion Cuisine & Lounge at 15171 Yonge Street, Aurora. You can RSVP by clicking here. We will have some free snacks and I really look forward to seeing you there!
I’ve continued to attend numerous events in Richmond Hill and Aurora. As a member of the organizing committee for the Richmond Hill election debates, I’ve had a public role for the wards in our riding. On September 4, I was a panelist for Wards 3 and 4. On September 11, I was a timekeeper for Ward 2 and the School Board Trustee Candidates in our riding. I will also be helping at the Oak Ridges (Ward 1) debate on September 23.
On September 6, we had a great Young Liberal turnout at my campaign event at Menchie’s in Oak Ridges. I am always impressed by their energy, intelligence and commitment! This past weekend, I attended the LPC(O) Convention in Markham that I helped to organize as a steering committee member.
I have continued to spread the Liberal message at many local events, including the Aurora Rib Fest, the Moon Festival in Richmond Hill and the Wild Wild West Hoedown in Aurora. On September 14, I was excited to watch our very own Young Liberal, Shadi Mousavi Nia, receive the top scholarship at the Crescent Village Community BBQ. Congratulations Shadi!
Every day, I’m connecting with more voters and convincing more community leaders that we need to elect Justin Trudeau as prime minister. You don’t have to wait until the nomination is over to do your part – please talk to your family, friends and neighbours to get them involved. With your help, we will paint this riding red!
